Three arrested in connection with Stratford drug offences

Three people have been arrested after officers out on patrol in Stratford spotted a suspected drug deal in Longfellow Road on Tuesday (20 August) afternoon.

Following the incident, the officers searched a 37-year-old man from Stratford and seized class A drugs believed to be heroin.

They then searched a nearby property on Longfellow Road where they seized more drugs believed to be heroin and a knife.

At the property they arrested a 38-year-old woman from Stratford and a 34-year-old man from Stratford on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Officers are still trying to locate two men who fled from the property when officers arrived.

Sergeant Dave McManus from Stratford Police Station said: "The quick actions of the officers who were out on patrol in Stratford led to the seizure of a significant quantity of what we believe to be heroin.

"We're still trying to locate two men who fled from the property and we'd keen to hear from anyone who can help us locate them."

All three suspects have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
